Off to Japan
It feels like ages since I’ve been abroad.
I’m just at YVR right now waiting for my plane and there’s a free wireless spot (”datavalet”) here. Which is awesome! Geekiness at its finest. Skype even works.
I’m flying on a Boeing 747 with JAL. I’ve never been with them before but I’ve heard good things. And, I guess, it’s not hard to beat Air Canada.
I’ll be gone for a week …
MacBook Pro & Boot Camp
I just got my MacBook Pro yesterday and today, Apple announced Boot Camp. Yeeha! I immediately gave it a spin and it’s awesome!
Windows purrs on the machine and even Unreal Tournament 2004 (Demo) ran great. I got it at 60fps with most of the settings turned up. For some reason, Unreal didn’t recognize the full resolution 1440×900 and instead only allowed me to go to 1152×864. Windows itself ran at the native resolution with no problems.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that I’m some sort of Windows back-switcher. But it’s nice to have around for testing web pages and games!
I bet it will really increase the sales of MacBook Pro …
MacBook Pro
Yay!
I recently ordered a MacBook Pro so that I could have a better development machine and could actually test Universal applications.
It came today! The packaging was immaculate. I’m not done installing everything I need on it. But, so far, it works great. It’s especially fast at compiling which should save me lots of time.
The only problem has been .Mac syncing … and that’s because the servers seem to be down. :(
Mayne Island
I was on Mayne Island this weekend. Jason’s grandparents have a cabin up there so a bunch of us went to escape the Big City.
Food, drinks, board games, nature, more food. Oh, and some Nintendo sprinkled around. Good times!
I’ll post some pictures when I get a little bit of time.
Update: I just uploaded the pictures.
New Hosting
Got my website transferred to Site5 and it all seems to be working okay. I just need to make my buddy Nick transfer his website and then my poor iMac will be free from the drudgery of HTTP requests.
